CMS has further extended the due date of the 12/31/2019 cost reports due to the COVID-19 PHE.

Earlier this year, CMS had announced a blanket filing extension until July 31, 2020. Now, CMS has decided that the due date will be pushed back to August 31, 2020.

Other year-ends have had their due dates extended, as well – check with your MAC for clarification.

Providers need not request an extension from their MACs; extensions will be granted automatically.
